Be a good representative of the sport. Others may judge all ATV
owners by the actions of a few. This extends to influencing other members of
a group as well as the individual.
2.
Respect both private and public property. Operate vehicles in a
manner which will not cause damage either to property or the characteristics
of the property such as altering water runoff, causing erosion, etc. Be
aware of dry conditions which could cause wild fires. DO NOT LITTER !
3.
Obey all Federal, State, and Local laws at all times. Be aware of any
special rules. Obtain proper licensing and operating requirements.
4.
Recognize and respect the rights of other riders, resource users, and
property owners.
5.
Operate vehicles in a manner consistent with safety with respect to
rider ability, terrain, visibility, and weather conditions.
6.
Operate vehicle on marked trails or in acceptable locations only.
7.
Respect wildlife and wildlife habitat. Do not harass or chase
wildlife.
8.
Yield to non motorized traffic. Shut off engine in the case of
horseback encounters.
9.
Slow and/or stop when meeting oncoming traffic. Yield to uphill
traffic.
10.
Provide adequate space for traffic to pass when parking or stopping
on trails. Park considerately as to permit other parked vehicles to leave.
11.
Carry an emergency kit and a basic repair toolkit, and offer
assistance to those in need.
12.
Be considerate of other riders and their abilities and promote
responsible conduct among fellow riders.
13.
