Anderson injured
in Monster Jam, Minneapolis Minneapolis, MN - Dennis Anderson, long time driver of the famed monster truck Grave Digger, was injured Saturday night during qualifying rounds of the December 2nd, 2006 Monster Jam at the HHH Metrodome in Minneapolis. Facing off against rival Tom Meents in Maximum Destruction in round one of qualifying, all appeared to be going well until Anderson landed the truck following the first set of car obstacles. He was quickly out of the gas and slowed the truck to a halt after rounding the first corner marker. Medical personnel and track workers quickly responded to the scene as workers began assisting Anderson. It was unclear the degree of injury, and rumors spread through the crowd of a possible heart attack. This did not appear to be the case, as workers used a front end loader to reach the driver and extricate him from the vehicle. Anderson walked from the track under his own power, his arm in a sling but looking somewhat worse for wear. Unknown is the severity of the injury or exactly what happened, but it is rumored that his arm got caught in the wheel upon landing, possibly breaking it. No reports have appeared on the official Monster Jamoline website or on the official Grave Digger site as it seems they do not want to divulge the fact that Dennis may not be in the Grave Digger for some time. With the popularity of Grave Digger and Dennis Anderson on the Monster Truck tour, this could be damaging to attendance for upcoming events. Any additional information will be passed on here on ATV.MN if we hear anything new on this. |
